My name is Sarah Yule, a counsellor from Church Crookham who offers addiction counselling services to clients from all locations in Hampshire, Surrey and the surrounding areas. I deal with complex behaviours and support those who face issues related to problematic alcohol and substance use.
I work with you at a personal level, helping you to change your own outlook on substance use or any issue that affects your lifestyle.
In addition to addiction counselling, I am also experienced in:
Whatever your experiences, and no matter how challenging you find it to understand an addiction, I remove the barriers to change and show you what life could be like if you were free from your struggles.
I also support those impacted by another individual’s addiction.
Addiction counselling is a responsive form of support and it tackles deep-rooted emotional pain and trauma. My approach takes the client beyond the surface layers of addiction and deals with the underlying cause. I help individuals, and those impacted by addictive patterns, by using either attachment-based or compassion-focused therapies.
I also use other evidence-based modalities to kickstart the recovery of my clients, focusing on the mind, the body and the spirit.
It is common for many of my clients in Church Crookham, Hampshire or Surrey to need addiction counselling due to unhealed trauma. Trauma can be the result of childhood neglect, patterns of abuse, or a significant disruption to your lifestyle. An addiction can often mask your pain.
Recovery only happens when the emotional wounds are dealt with.
In addition to substance misuse, I can support those who show common signs of addiction with social media use, gaming and overworking.
Isolation is a common sign of behavioural addiction and often leaves a client with feelings of guilt or a deterioration in their mental health. Whatever the issue, the driving force of recovery usually relates to unresolved trauma, emotional pain and unfulfilled needs.
My approach to addiction counselling is caring and non-judgemental.
