Depression is a serious, life-changing condition that nobody should have to face alone. It should not be considered OK to reach out for help; it is essential. Depression counselling allows you to work in harmony with a counsellor so you never need to fight your battles by yourself. Medication can help you in controlling depression, but it doesn’t necessarily help you to understand why you feel like you do.
My name is Sarah Yule.
I work from my counselling room in Church Crookham, and I offer counselling to clients in Hampshire, Surrey and all surrounding areas – in person, online or over the phone.
In addition to depression counselling, I am also trained in:
I feel it is important to recognise depression as an illness, not as a weakness. While it isn’t uncommon for anybody to experience low moods, your quality of life can be affected if the feelings you have are intense, or if they have started to impact the way that you live.
Depression counselling is a confidential talking therapy, one that I use to help my clients understand their emotions, overcome negative thoughts and develop practical coping strategies. Working alongside a trained counsellor gives you access to cognitive and interpersonal therapies which tackle the issues and improve your mental wellbeing.
During sessions at my practice in Church Crookham, you will be able to discuss your thoughts, explain how you feel and tell me about the past life experiences which have led to low moods or to depression.
If you don’t have the confidence to pay me a personal visit, you can still receive depression counselling online or over the telephone.
Because depression has an impact on how we think and behave, it will sometimes feel that you are facing your challenges alone. I offer a discrete and understanding service that promotes recovery and healing.

I offer concessions to trainee counsellors and university students.
Depression counselling is well suited to individuals who have been a victim to abuse or neglect in childhood, have experienced trauma by losing a job or a loved one, suffer from low self-esteem, or have an overly-critical self-perception. I can also help the family members of clients from Hampshire, Surrey or the surrounding areas who might be helping those struggling with depression.
I help clients with personal or family histories related to mental health conditions too. I am familiar with mild, moderate and severe instances of depression.
My practice in Church Crookham is neuro-affirming, trauma-informed and inclusive. I welcome and affirm neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ clients.
